The art gallery’s high ceilings, flexible lighting grid and nearly 3,500 square-feet of display and work space will provide incredible new opportunities for artists and patrons alike. The additional space will provide the perfect setting for special exhibitions that were never before possible. This gallery also includes work space for an artist-in-residence and the flexibility to showcase multiple exhibitions at once.
The Student Perspectives photography gallery exhibits the breadth of skills of Graphics and Imaging Technologies majors and minors in all areas of photography. The gallery includes examples of portraiture, commercial, product, advertising, nature, macro, and wildlife photography. Each specialized area of photography takes a different skill-set, different equipment and an evolving mindset of the photographer and the images in the gallery represent the student’s mastery of these principles. Students competed against each other for the right to be shown in the gallery and were judged by four accomplished photographers. Each judge picked a “Judge’s Choice” winner and each student that is shown in the gallery will have a head shot and creator’s statement to accompany their images.
