Additional Needs

The Bicknell Family Center for the Arts is an impressive facility but there is still need for private support to complete all aspects of the building in terms of construction, equipment and programming. The naming opportunities still available.

Phase Two Construction Needs

Art Gallery – This space is partially finished and is not yet ready for exhibitions.  Private support is needed to finish the space including lighting appropriate for art exhibitions, a security system, display pedestals and other specialized equipment.  The naming opportunity for the art gallery is available.

The Rehearsal Room – At nearly 3,000 square-feet of space, this area has the capability of being used for a variety of purposes.  The costs of finishing this room will include the installation of acoustical finishes so that it can be used as a rehearsal space for large music ensembles in addition to serving as a meeting/conference room. The naming opportunity for the multi-purpose room is available.

Other Needs within the Bicknell Center

Equipment Needs

The Bicknell Center staff is in the process of installing a variety of specialized equipment in both performances spaces related to lighting, sound, video projection and recording capabilities.  The Center staff is in the process of identifying additional equipment needs throughout the facility that will enable the University to present performances and exhibitions of the highest caliber in this beautiful setting.

Programming Needs

The University already has in place the Performing Arts and Lecture Series, numerous events presented by Campus Activities and the annual programming presented by the Departments of Art, Communication (theatre) and Music that will be featured in the Bicknell Center.  Other academic departments and programs across the campus will utilize the Bicknell Center for lectures, conferences and special events. The University has aspirations to expand its programming in the arts and other areas, but additional support from foundations, corporate underwriting and other donors will be needed to capitalize on the opportunities presented within this new facility.
