Made possible through a gift from distinguished alumna Barbara Rondelli Perry and her husband, Richard R. Perry, the Barbara Rondelli Kansas Statewide Classical Voice Competition brings together some of Kansas' finest vocalists in this one-of-a-kind competition.
Open to undergraduate singers currently enrolled in Kansas collegiate institutions, this competition will award a significant prize to one winner in each of the categories of soprano, mezzo-soprano, tenor, and baritone/bass.
Competition begins at 10 a.m. and runs throughout the day. While the entire competition is open to the public, a special concert will be performed by the top vocalists in each category beginning at 4:15.
We're honored to have some of the nation's finest vocalists on-site to judge this year's competition.
The 2018 Rondelli judging panel consists of:
Maria Jette, soprano -- Soprano Maria Jette's wide-ranging career has encompassed everything from early Baroque opera to world premieres, in the United States and abroad.
Jos Milton -- Milton enjoys an active career in music as a professional singer and an education. His vibrant eclectic schedule includes numerous engagements in the realms of concert, opera and ensemble singing.
Bradford Gleim -- Gleim's love of music formed during childhood performances with the New Jersey Opera Theater and Westminster Choir College. He would go on to play classical piano, form his own rock bands, earn a Masters in Education, and later a graduate degree in vocal performance. He now teaches voice at Berklee College of Music.
